Our skin is what we first see in the mirror. It reflects our confidence and how we take care and nurture of our bodies. Which is critical to our overall appearance and health.
As a women who struggled with acne, oily, and textured skin for as long as I can remember, I know how frustrating troubled skin can be. I mean talk about a confidence killer!
But what I found from research and experience, what we put into our bodies directly reflects through our skin.
Trouble skin is due to a buildup of toxins in the skin, more toxins than it can handle. (or too many cookies for me) Our livers are what handle getting rid of toxins first, when it’s overloaded toxins are pushed through our skin. Yikes!
My go- to foods for glowing skin:
Water: Yes, water keeps your skin hydrated, staying hydrated makes it appear more plump and less wrinkled.
Walnuts: Full of omega-3 essential fatty acids, which help improve skin’s elasticity.
Avocados: Ton’s or nutrients such as vitamins A, D and E. These vitamins help prevent the signs of aging. Avocados are also high in minerals like copper and iron. These minerals help the skin fight the signs of aging by defending against free radicals.
Spinach: Rich in nutrients and antioxidants. This particular vegetable is packed with lutein which helps to keep your eyes sparkling white.
Blueberries: An antioxidant-rich fruit is high in fiber, vitamin A and vitamin C. Help clear acne and blotchy spots on your skin. It’s a strong antioxidant which keeps the collagen in your skin healthy. They’re also high in anthocyanins and quercetin, which will help reduce inflammation and keep your skin looking evenly toned and radiant.
Carrot: Packed with beta-carotene and vitamin A, an antioxidant which prevents overproduction of cells in the skin’s outer layer. That means fewer flaky dead cells that otherwise could combine with sebum to clog your pores. Plus, vitamin A plays an essential role in reducing the development of skin-cancer cells. It’s a win-win.
Salmon: This fish is so rich in omega-3 fatty acids that it nourishes the skin by reducing the body’s production of inflammatory substances and moisturizes skin. This helps clear clogged pores and erase fine lines and wrinkles, leaving your skin looking clear and refreshed.
Ginger: There are all kinds of benefits to eating ginger, but using it directly on the skin can increase skin’s radiance and decrease inflammation that may contribute to conditions such as psoriasis and acne. It’s also an antioxidant, which means it inhibits harmful free radicals that cause skin damage and aging.
Oranges: This delicious fruit is known for its toning properties. It’s also a great source of vitamin C (as most of you already know) which helps improve the texture and color of your skin. To finish things off, this citrus fruit helps restore collagen, leaving your skin firm and equipped to fight the signs of early aging.
Turmeric: This spice is a great skin protectant, because turmeric’s active antioxidant, curcumin, has shown to be one of the most effective anti-inflammatory and free-radical fighting options out there.
Even with a healthy diet, we are exposed to an insane amount of toxins on a daily basis just from our environment. So our bodies could use all the help they can get to detox and create radiant skin.
My favorite beauty tool for that firm, radiance, “summer glow” looking skin is my crystal roller. My Rose Quartz Roller the crystal of love, soothing, and healing is my favorite!
The roller is designed to simply roll out wrinkles, de-puff under eyes, and release tension (bye bye stress). It literally stimulates collagen, evens skin tone & removes toxins from the skin, just with one tool!
This is such an easy way to create a smooth beautiful glowing appearance on the face. I personally love using coconut oil a few nights a week with my roller. It’s like a mini spa night to give myself an at home natural facial to replenish my skin from the harsh winter months. The natural moisturizing properties from the coconut oil used with the roller leave my skin looking hydrated, younger, and glowing!
Crystal rollers are my favorite beauty tool because they leave the skin in a space of love, healing, and radiance, plus they helps with skin’s elasticity, release of toxins, and generates collagen. Hello summer glow!
When I love my skin it loves me back!
