We all know that feeling of complete dread when your child says come play on the bouncy castle, or you are out for lunch with the girls and you are faced with a full blown sneezing fit.
Peeing…just a little… when you laugh, jump, cough, sneeze or burp is not our finest moment ladies and it happens to the best of us.
Just the other day I was laughing with my friend. She had been at her little boy’s party and had an accident while enjoying the bouncy castle fun. Bouncy castles and women that have given birth don’t mix! She was jealous as I explained I hadn’t experienced this yet. Well I found out later on that week that it’s not only bouncy castles, it’s also trampolines and I am not exempt from the following advice. It was seriously the strangest feeling and to make matters worse my little boy proceeded to mock me which made my belly laugh and well, you can guess the rest…
So what can we do about it?
Well the clue is in the title…. Use those muscles!
Pelvic floor exercises are not just for women who are pregnant and want to keep their mini moos in check. We should all be secretly having mini workout sessions whenever we possibly can because let’s face it ladies, a saggy fanny isn’t doing anyone any favours. Not only can it cause you to have these unfortunate accidents I mentioned above, it can also lead to your muscles becoming weak and even prolapsed and yes that means that the pleasure you are currently getting from sex will be no more. Holy shiz that sounds awful.
We need to begin at the beginning and get those muscles in tip top shape, pronto!
Here are some cheeky little ways to get those muscles pumping again so you can stop worrying about unnecessary accidents and start enjoying being the owner of a nice toned nether region.
The good old Pelvic floor exercise, Kegels– It’s been around for centuries, this is most women’s ‘go to’ exercise when it comes to toning. Mostly because no one has a clue when you are doing them and you can do them literally ANYWHERE! Bring them into your morning routine by squeezing while brushing your teeth, drinking your coffee or even driving to the office. I find that it also brings you back to the moment and you appreciate the fact that you actually possess such a wonderful little package that also houses your 8 million nerve endings. Woooaaaahhhh?
Oh and did you know you can supercharge kegels too! Try adding a yoni egg into the routine. Yoni eggs have many awesome qualities, one of them being they can help you strengthen your pelvic muscles. For more information about Yoni eggs please follow this link –
Get creative with your yoni egg, try doing more active exercises like Yoga, pelvic stretch, squatting and leg ups while your kegeling with your yoni egg.
Self pleasure – Hands, fingers, Yoni wands, in fact anything you fancy. Self pleasure can be a truly beautiful way to release your daily emotions, to give yourself some self love and to strengthen those pelvic muscles again. Be creative ladies (wink, wink)
And last but not least Sex! Grab your partner and partake in a little love session. Sex not only is orgasmicly enjoyable, but also works your pelvic floor. Why not get a little exercise in and pleasure at the same time.
In the case of the pelvic floor muscle movement, no pun intended, it is each to their own. Find what works and like anything, practice makes perfect.
I bet before you read this you didn’t even think about the future of your lady bits, well now is the time to get squeezing, firming and tightening those pelvic muscles ladies, because if you don’t use it you may just loose it.
