“Let’s talk about sex, baby; let’s talk about you and me…”
But first, I would like you to consider, for a moment that sex is more than just a physical act. In fact, I’d like you to compare it to something like a multidimensional, layered cake; an invisible fusion of one mind, soul, body and spirit with another. Now I would like you to envision yourself trying to pick that freshly baked, ethereal cake apart with a rusty chainsaw the very next morning…
Are you catching my drift??
Dissecting a Soul Tie
A soul tie is defined as “a spiritual connection between two people who have been physically intimate with each other or who have had an intense emotional or spiritual association or relationship.”
The everlasting fudgy finger prints left behind by each and every one of your partners.
The Science Behind Soul Ties
During each and every sexual encounter our brains release a hormone called dopamine – often referred to as the “feel good” hormone, and it’s responsible for the very same cravings that junkies get when they need a drug fix or anytime you get the hankering for a large slice of chocolate cake…
Think of dopamine as the chemical reaction during your hot and heavy bake sessions.
Identifying an Unhealthy Soul Tie:
- She/he is always on your mind.
- You frequent their social media.
- You crave to be with them even if the relationship is toxic.
- You cannot stay away from or stop having sex with him/her.
- You consider the person’s reactions while making decisions.
- You have mood swings based on his/her presence (or absence).
- You are willing to do ANYTHING to make the relationship work.
- You think about them even while you are committed to someone else.
The most important part of severing these ties is to start by acknowledging them. Once you have identified the loose ends, you may then move on to “cutting the chord” of energy that tethers you to this other person(s).
Severing Soul Ties:
- Prepare and cleanse your sacred space – Sage, meditate, pray.
- Find a comfortable seat and connect with your breath.
- Envision a thick black/red chord (you decide on the length) that connects you to this other person. Hold onto that picture in your mind’s eye for a moment.
- See / feel yourself picking up a heavy pair of scissors and cutting the chord.
- Say a closing prayer or mantra (We will leave you one below).
“I ask you to go to the root, and dig, cut, tear, and loose me from every soul tie working against my highest good. I command every portion of my soul (my thoughts, all of me: spirit, body, mind and soul, that has been fragmented, torn, broken or cursed, to come back into its proper place.”
