I don’t know about you but I have always felt a deep and meaningful connection with moon and it’s cycles. It somehow charges my energy, ignites my intuition and allows me to create and truly use my imagination to levels I can only dream of. There’s something supernatural and comforting when I see a full moon.
This fact got me exploring how other women feel connected to the moon and what I found was very interesting indeed.
Firstly I just want to say anyone reading who doesnt flow with the moon or doesn’t have a menstrual cycle at all. This article is a record of my findings and in no way means you are any less of an incredible woman. I myself don’t flow with the moon phases, in fact my cycles are wildly unbalanced but I learnt a long time ago to embrace this and work with it. I don’t feel any less of a woman for not flowing with its cycles and I still maintain a magical connection with the moon and it’s mysteries.
That being said I have read some truly beautiful things about women that have learnt to or naturally do, correlate with it.
It is said the moon has 8 major phases during the lunar cycle, new moon, waxing crescent moon, first quarter moon, waxing gibbous moon, full moon, waxing gibbous moon, third quarter moon and waning crescent. It is whispered that women are connected to the moon because it’s phases run over 29ish days and so does the average menstrual cycle.
Imagine for a second that you was a woman that always bled on one of the moons cycles. It would totally blow my mind and I would take full advantage of its perceived powers. It would be a magical connection and for me, it would focus me to celebrate my menstrual cycle more instead of my normal sighing and saying “here we go again”
Lets face it ladies periods can suck big time. The week leading up to the cascade of blood starts with eating everything insight, wanting to bite everyone’s head off and the uncontrollable crying begins. I envy anyone who learns to control their cycles to flow with ease with the lunar cycle, connecting with their feminine.
Again the research got me thinking how could us normal folk ‘connect’ with the moon cycles or even go as far as to flow with ease with it.
So how can I sync my phases with the moons phases?
I thought you’d never ask…
Moon phases and menstrual cycles.

💖 Embrace the moon cycles, learn about them, feel pulled towards certain phases. Journal on the cycles that lift you, investigate your own menstrual cycles. Log them and see where they fall at that moment. Whether you can learn to bleed on a chosen moon phase is kind of irrelevant, seeking your feminine energy and using the magical wonders and mysteries of the moon can only be a wonderful thing.
💖 Express yourself on a full moon- self expression is a must. Tap into your feminine energy and self indulge in dancing under a full moon with your girl tribe. Bathe in the moonlight and energise your soul.
💖 Brush off those moon rituals, release, reflect and repeat. There are hundreds of moon rituals you can do to connect to your feminine and focus on aligning your menstrual cycles. My favourite way is to make up your own. Not only will you be listening to your inner self, you’ll be creating something beautiful you can use again and again to increase your vibrations and live a fuller and more grounded life. Why not make it extra special and intergrate your Yoni Egg or Crystal Wand.
The energy you can achieve will seriously blow your mind.
My thoughts…
There are certainly women out there who have either been lucky enough to always flow on a moon cycle or they have learnt to sync with the phases. And there’s women out there who have an unbalanced cycle like mine.
We can still have a beautiful connection with the moon regardless. For whatever reason women are drawn to the moon like the tides of the earth. It can ground us, energise us and pull us towards our inner feminine powers.
I LOVE the moon and it’s mysteries…how about you?
